Juniper Centre Inc. provides Residential Services that offer safe, supportive homes for adults living with developmental disabilities. Our residential programs are designed to promote stability, independence, dignity, and a strong sense of belonging. We recognize that each person’s needs, abilities, and goals are different, and we tailor support to ensure individuals can live as independently as possible while still feeling secure and cared for.
We offer a range of supportive living environments, including community-based group homes and a Supported Independent Living (SIL) program. These options allow individuals to receive the right level of support based on their unique circumstances, preferences, and daily living needs. Whether a person benefits from a structured group environment or is working toward greater independence, our goal is to help them thrive in a home that feels comfortable and respectful.
Our group homes provide a community-based setting where individuals can develop life skills, build relationships, and participate in daily routines with the support of trained staff. Staffing levels are based on client needs to ensure safety, wellness, and consistency. Staff assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal care routines, medication support as required, household responsibilities, and community access. Support is provided in a way that encourages participation and builds confidence, rather than taking over tasks that individuals can learn to do with the right guidance.
Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) program is designed for individuals who are ready for greater independence while still benefiting from scheduled support. The SIL program helps participants maintain autonomy while ensuring they have access to assistance with areas such as budgeting, time management, household planning, appointment scheduling, and community navigation. This approach supports long-term independence and reduces barriers to living more self-directed lives.
Residential Services are about more than meeting basic needs. We work to create home environments where individuals feel respected, valued, and empowered to make choices. We support autonomy by encouraging residents to participate in decisions that impact their lives—such as routines, meals, personal goals, leisure activities, and community involvement. We also promote social connection and inclusion by supporting residents to engage in community activities, maintain friendships, and build relationships that matter.
Safety and well-being are central to our residential programs. We maintain consistent routines, supportive staff presence, and a respectful environment where individuals can feel calm and secure. Our team also works closely with families, guardians, and other service providers when appropriate to ensure continuity of care and strong communication.
At Juniper Centre Inc., we believe that a supportive home is the foundation for a meaningful life. Our Residential Services are built to help individuals live with dignity, develop independence, and feel connected—both within their home and within the broader community.
